Black River Entertainment Promotes Delvo to Vice President and Expands Communications Department

NASHVILLE, TN – Black River Entertainment strengthens its Communications Department with the official announcement from President and CEO Gordon Kerr that Dawn Delvo is now the Vice President of Communications for the entertainment company. With the announcement, Delvo is happy to share the recent hire of Ally Roden as Publicity Coordinator.

"Dawn has consistently proven her strong leadership skills and wonderful ability to articulate the vision and significant milestones celebrated by Black River Entertainment," shared Kerr.

In this elevated position, Delvo plays a direct role in the media and public relations strategies for the entertainment company’s studios, publishing, executive staff, label, and artist roster, as well as working directly with independent publicity partners. Given the nature of an independent company, Delvo pulls from her background, contributing to marketing efforts and securing film and TV sync opportunities.

"I have a painting in my office with the famous quote, 'Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined.' Being a part of the Black River family and helping make dreams come true as my day-to-day 'job' is astounding. Of course, it comes with tough days, but Gordon and the team here have allowed me to follow Thoreau's advice for the last 12 years, and I am thankful. Leading into 2024, I couldn't be more excited about the future of Country music and continuing to make history with Kelsea Ballerini, MaRynn Taylor, Pryor Baird, and more."

With more than 15 years in the music industry, Delvo joined the Black River team in 2011. She has proudly been a part of the successful launch of Kelsea Ballerini’s career from the moment she signed with Black River as a songwriter and artist in 2013 to her now having earned three GRAMMY nominations, multiple CMA Awards and five back-to-back Top 10 entries on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart. Additionally, Kelsea’s garnered more than six billion cumulative streams including her seven No.1 singles and 31 RIAA gold and platinum certifications.

Before joining Black River, the North Dakota native spent a handful of years in the music business between record labels and independent firms, where she developed her skills in publicity, marketing, social media management, and film and TV licensing.

As Publicity Coordinator, Roden will provide direct support to Delvo. Roden graduated from Belmont University in 2021, majoring in Corporate Communications and minoring in Music Business. Throughout her time at Belmont, she held internships with various companies within the public relations and entertainment industries, including The Andrews Agency, PLA Media, and Red Light Management.

Roden expresses her excitement for the new position, stating, "Thank you to Dawn Delvo for this incredible opportunity. Black River is truly a family, and I'm thrilled to grow with the company and to see where we can take Black River Records' fantastic roster in the future!"

Before joining Black River, Roden was employed at the Country Music Association, where she worked the seasonal position of Communications Assistant for the 50th CMA Fest. At the CMA, she reported to the Senior Manager of Talent Relations and Production, aiding in the collection of assets for the more than 300 acts performing over the four-day festival, coordinating festival events, booking stage hosts, and more.

"Ally’s intuitive nature and work ethic are undeniable," said Delvo. "Since our first meeting during the interview process to her having had several weeks under her belt at Black River, I am continually impressed. Ally is an excellent writer and communicator and is quickly becoming a highly valued team member."

Roden began her professional career as a contract Digital Media Producer and freelance writer for an entertainment publication. During her time in digital media, she had her work published in various online and print publications.

Both Delvo and Roden work out of Black River's Nashville location on Music Row. Email them at [email protected] and [email protected] respectively.
